The Italian manufacturer’s kit received overwhelming approval from
team mangers and drivers alike. The increased grip demands a sensitive
driving style and this has helped to increase the performance
of the Renault 2.0 to levels approaching those of an F.3 single-seater

The debut of the new Tatuus kit in the
F.Renault 2.0 ALPS championship
exceeded the results of the test at the
first meeting of 2013 in all respects.
The 36 cars participated in two highly
competitive races, providing the young
drivers with invaluable experience and
development opportunities. The shell
proved to be so effective that it
resembled a Formula 3 car; as well as
drawing appreciative looks for its
aesthetic qualities. Looks always
count. The team managers were also
happy with the lack of winged
appendages on the front since these
always tend to break off at the slightest
contact with the other cars, causing
the teams no end of headaches. From
the drivers’ point of view, the
impressions were unanimously
positive. The equilibrium is excellent;
the grip is challenging and requires the
drivers to handle the car sensitively,
avoiding jerky movements and
handling the steering wheel gently.
Moreover, it is very sensitive to
different settings, and this helps the
drivers as they begin to acquire more
technical experience. In a nutshell, the
Tatuus product passed the test. Hardly
surprising really, when you consider the
extent of the Italian manufacturer’s
involvement in the category between
2000
and 2009, when the Tatuus name
became practically synonymous with
Formula Renault 2.0. A worldwide
success that has always been capable
of identifying new talent for the
motorsports world, and has produced
some of the stars currently competing
in F.1 and other major motor racing
competitions.
