Euronova Racing
GSK Grand Prix
Kevin Gilardoni – Dzhon Simonyan
This year, Sergio Cane’s team has turned to the experience of Kevin Gilardoni following last year’s
success together in the Challenge F.Renault 2.0 Italy. After scoring points in both races at
Vallelunga with a tenth and ninth position, fate intervened to prevent Gilardoni and the team from
building on their success. The second GSK Grand Prix spot was assigned to a new face, Dzhon
Simonyan, who was making his international debut in formula racing. The Russian driver
achieved several good results and showed that he was capable of performing consistently.
Ukyo Sasahara – Gregor Ramsay – Jorge Amado
Vincenzo Sospiri’s team featured three different drivers upon their return to the Renault competition. It was the first time in the
ALPS series for all three drivers, one of whom, Ukyo Sasahara, was competing for the first time in formula racing, having
made the step up from kart racing. And it was the Japanese driver who demonstrated excellent qualities, taking everyone by
surprise with two eighth place finishes at Vallelunga and another top ten finish in the second race at Spa, where he came in
seventh. The British driver Gregor Ramsay also got off to a good start, scoring points thanks to a seventh place in the first
race at Vallelunga, he also achieved good results at Imola but was unfortunate at Spa. The Venezuelan driver, Javier Amado,
did not compete at Spa, but continued to build on his experience in formula racing at Vallelunga and Imola, and after being
forced to retire during the first race at the circuit in Lazio, he managed to complete all the other races. It is worth noting that
Euronova Racing has three drivers from three different continents: Asia (Sasahara), Europe (Ramsay), South America (Amado).
