By contrast, Mattia Drudi, who was also born in 1998, started following
the footsteps of his father (ex-driver, turned team manager and
championship organizer) at the age of 7 in Baby Kart class 50. He
progressed rapidly, finishing as runner up in the EasyKart class 60
world championship, before achieving further
success as European champion in EasyKart
class 100, as well as finishing runner up again
in the world championship. The next step
in his career came in 2011 and 2012
when he drove for Birel, achieving
fourth place in the Italian championship
and winning a world series race
at Angerville. This year he is
an official driver for the
Maranello Kart team.

Leonardo Pulcini and
Mattia Drudi are
attempting to follow in
the footsteps of their
fathers. They are
currently competing in
top level kart racing
competitions and are
attempting to emulate
the feats of their famous
parents, who both spent
a large part of their
careers with Renault Italy.

AWORLD
CHAMPION AT A
TENDER AGE
Leonardo Pulcini was born in
Rome on 25th June 1998 and
inherited a passion for racing
from his father, who also
competed in go karts before
moving on to the various
Renault championships.
Leonardo began racing in
2011,
competing in the
Junior Rok category where
he won both the Italian and
world championships, before
advancing to the KF3
category, where he is
currently achieving excellent
results in the WSK Euro and
Master Series. Pulcini has
also taken part in the first
round of the Italian CSAI-ACI
championship and is
currently leading the
standings.
