How did the idea of running for the organization of Italian Formula 4 championship come up, and what led to the decision to rely on Tatuus machinery? “After so many years spent on kart racetracks, listening to the drivers talking about their future in single-seaters, we started thinking about organizing our series. Not too much later, the FIA launched the Formula 4 concept and it immediately seemed like the ideal category for us. At that point, I sent our official application to the Italian federation. We won the tender and we became the series' organizers. For us, it was a personal challenge. We had to understand if we did belong on a racetrack. The learning period was not easy, but very constructive. The next step was to start a tender to select the car supplier. The competition was won by Tatuus and we have been very lucky. We have the chance to work with one of the best manufacturers in the history of single-seaters. The car proved perfect since the first season and today its amazing reliability allowed us to attract more than 30 cars at the start of each race". Then you decided to continue taking young drivers along the path to F1 with the creation of the Formula Regional European championship. "It was a natural step. The same way we felt the need to go from kart to Formula 4, we thought it was necessary to continue growing up with Formula Regional. We realized that the drivers coming out of F4 needed a bridge to international F3, which has much higher budgets and power. So we created an intermediate step which is important for levelling the various steps so to take young racers towards the major single-seater series with less violence”.
