6 The American experience is proceeding full steam ahead… «Yes, our cars in the USA work very well. I was in Saint Petersburg also to introduce the CEO of our group, Giovanni Delfino, to Dan Anderson and American distributor Karl Haas, and everybody was really satisfied with our work. This is the third year of USF2000 and the second of Pro Mazda, which is now known as Indy Pro 2000. Being part of the most important entry-level championship in America, together with Dallara which provides chassis for IndyCar and Indy Lights, is important for Tatuus. As a manufacturer, I should be unbiased, but it’s great to see an Italian team like RP doing well after believing so much in our American project. It isn’t easy and we tried to field a team there in 1996. Adapting to the concept of American racing is not easy between ovals, different gearboxes and set-ups is a tough challenge». What are the new challenges ahead? «As we know, the FIA postponed the new Formula 4 concept to 2021. We have been working for some time on it but we are still far away. Part of our resources is focused on the future, but the priority at the moment is to follow all the championships better, as there are many of them: the national F.4 series, the F3 Regional championship, the Toyota Racing Series, the British F3 by Palmer who decided to continue with the same car and upgrade it with a kit for 2020 which we are already discussing. And then there is the USA. We are working with 3-4 different categories every weekend, and on tracks all over the world. We need to be ready to provide the assistance needed. Except for the Italian Formula 4, the championships are everywhere on the planet. Our internal staff, together with the resources from Autotecnica Motori, are constantly travelling, from Imola to the Nurburgring, from Hungary to Laguna Seca». What is the recipe to succeed in so many different environments? «The key is to remain as flexible as small companies even when you grow up in terms of professionalism. That’s typical of the Italian environment and we know that because we rely on so many Italian suppliers.” Eduardo Barrichello USF 2000 Part of our resources is focused on the future, but the priority at the moment is to follow all the championships better, as there are many of them: the national F.4 series, the F3 Regional championship, the Toyota Racing Series, the British F3 by Palmer who decided to continue with the same car and upgrade it with a kit for 2020 which we are already discussing.
