20 Still led by the Davide De Gobbi's Top Speed organization, F3 Asia decided to become a full-fledged winter series. The calendar will be concentrated in just over two months, with the fifth and final round set for February 22 and 23 in Buriram. In between, the trips to the Emirates in Dubai (January 10-11) and Abu Dhabi (January 17- 18), plus the return on the Malaysian Sepang racetrack (February 14-15). F3 Asia now meets the new rules established by the FIA for the F1 Superlicense. From 2020, the drivers will have the chance to log the necessary points in a maximum of two championships, but the end of the first one must not overlap with the start of the second. With such a structured calendar, F3 Asia can be complementary to a driver’s commitments in Europe in national F4, Formula Regional or Formula Renault Eurocup which use the same Tatuus chassis. The result made participation in F3 Asia even more attractive. “We have reduced costs and travels without hampering quality, maximized track time and will give drivers the opportunity to earn Super License points before the championships in Europe and Japan start,” explained De Gobbi. And the plan succeeded considering the many commitments arrived!
