17 F4 Spanish Championship “Teams are my employers” Alvaro Martinez de Tejada, head of promoter “Agrupacion Deportiva Formula 4 Spain”, is organizing the championship together with the RFED federation. We talk with him about the pillars of the series in a way to… expose its secrets! W e are obviously very satisfied with the results we are achieving ‐ says Martinez ‐ In 2020, we had almost 20 cars at the start of each round despite the Covid‐19 pandemic and the following crisis, while in 2021 we will have 25 cars regularly at the start, a number that highlights a sustainable growth, step by step ". What is the secret behind this exponential growth? "I don't think there is a secret behind this result. There is a lot of commitment and hard work, carried out consistently in previous seasons. Everyone's mood in the paddock is always very positive with a collaborative attitude so that all the teams can feel at ease during the weekend, and they can focus on the job at hand. In addition, the circuits are high‐quality and the weather conditions are always favourable. The level of the drivers has increased considerably, making our championship one of the most competitive in Europe, with 15 drivers covered by one second. I want to underline that I work for the teams, I don't consider them my clients, but I think of them as my employers. I'm constantly focusing on their needs and listening carefully to their requests". In a delicate moment like the one we are living in, three new teams decided to join the series for 2021. “It is a source of pride for us to have two of the most prestigious Spanish teams at the start, Campos and Teo Martin. In their first season, Pinnacle Motorsport is also doing a really good job, especially considering that they started from scratch with only one driver. The first from them was very positive, especially about the calendar, the organization and the testing programme". by Mattia Tremolada
