Isack David Mini, Saucy, David The winner of the opening race of the season, David Vidales, is only sitting ninth in points and looks to be in a difficult position especially in qualifying. After taking victory at Imola, the same track that handed him two wins in 2020, the Spaniard never went beyond sixth place. Franco Colapinto was able to fight back at Zandvoort with fifth and second place in the two races at MP Motorsport's home racetrack. After lining up as one of the likely championship contenders, coming from third place last season, the Argentinean missed four races and was stuck with zero points in the first four rounds before bouncing back in the Netherlands. Michael Belov had a superb revenge lining‐up at Paul Ricard and Zandvoort. After being dropped by SMP due to financial difficulties, the Russian debuted as a wild card for JD Motorsport in Le Castellet. Despite not having driven a race car in six months, Belov quickly found the right chemistry, handing the Italian squad its first podium of the season. He then went on to wrap up the event with two second places. The results secured in France enabled Belov to find a full‐time seat at G4 Racing. In the first race at Zandvoort, Belov gave the Swiss squad its first points of the series after making the jump from Formula 4. In Q2, he claimed a promising row 2 spot, although a gearbox issue forced Belov to retire before the race started.
