29 Christian Mansell Dexter Patterson Spa‐Francorchamps is back on the calendar There are eight rounds on the schedule, including a cross‐border trip on July 24th and 25th at the legendary Belgian circuit of Spa‐Francorchamps. It is a welcome return since the event was unfortunately cancelled last season due to logistical problems related to COVID‐19. The season finale is scheduled for October 16th and 17th at Donington Park, and two events will be held at Silverstone, on the same configuration of the Formula 1 Grand Prix. Format gets updated, teams get own ranking The weekend format was changed. Race 3, the final one of the weekend, now features a completely reverse grid based on the laptimes of Saturday morning's qualifying. It is therefore the author of the fastest that has to go for a comeback and to try and recover as many positions (and points) as possible. Another new element was is the team ranking. The teams will now be able to compete for a dedicated title with their two best positions in each race counted to avoid unfair advantages for the three‐ car teams. After welcoming Hitech in 2020, the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship was joined by Elite Motorsport for this year, taking over from Lanan Racing with a three‐driver line‐up consisting of Tom Lebbon, Spaniard Javier Sagrera and Mexican José Garfias. FIA F3 test for the 2021 champion The prize for the champion is impressive as the winning driver will be awarded two days of official testing in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, one with Carlin and one with Hitech. The last two British F3 champions, Clement Novalak and Kaylen Frederick managed to make the jump to the international category. And they have just been joined by Jonathan Hoggard, who made his debut at Le Castellet. Mikkel Gruntdvig e Bart Horsten
