37 Sundaramoorthy takes three wins Coming from an Indian heritage, American Sundaramoorthy has scored three wins so far, and although he struggled at his home track of Road America, he still is among the favourites. Without an incident he was involved in at St. Petersburg, he would be much closer to the lead. Still without a win, Sundaramoorthy's Pabst Racing teammate Josh Pierson showed great consistency with five podiums to his name. He has surpassed Michael d'Orlando, who lost valuable points with a P22 in Elkhart Lake. The top‐5 in the series is being rounded out by Christian Brooks. Driving for Exclusive Autosport, the 20‐year‐old from California took two wins at Saint Petersburg, but lost a podium to a technical infringement in race 3 at Indy. Spike Kohlbecker shines among rookies In a season that is so far favouring the most experienced drivers, Spike Kohlbecker is currently the best running rookie. The St.Louis native scored his maiden podium with third place in race 1 at Road America. The final race in Winsconsin was brought home by Canadian Thomas Nepveu. Despite not having scored a single podium in the opening rounds of the year, the 16‐year‐old driver from Quebec put up a bold fight, passing some of the series' leading prospects to finish P1. Ending up behind him was Simon Sikes. Despite not running a full season, the Atlanta resident already locked in his first podium with Legacy Autosport in collaboration with Marotti Autosport. Speaking of teams, the 2021 season welcomed a new operation, Force Indy, created by African American businessman Rod Reid in the frame of Indy's "Race for Equality & Change" project .
