Sabelt supplies seat belts to 7 of the 10 teams involved in Formula 1, but is also present in many other categories with Tatuus being a longtime partner. «We became leaders in our respective fields», Marsiaj proudly underlines, «Tatuus made an extraordinary journey becoming an excellent benchmark in a specific segment of the motorsport market. Like Sabelt, it is a point of pride for Italy. Collaborating is almost natural". The Concorezzo‐based factory is fitting its current single‐ seater models (F4, F3 Regional, British F3, USF‐2000 and Indy Pro 2000), with Sabelt 6‐point safety belts featuring the appropriate variations. «With Tatuus and Gianfranco De Bellis, we speak the same language. We developed a specific product together, with low weight and the utmost attention to quality. After all, these are components that can save the lives of boys and girls on the track», says Marsiaj. A constant evolution Not only safety, but also lightness: it seems counterintuitive, but it is precisely the goal that Sabelt pursuits in every project. «In order to be increasingly competitive, we have to work a lot on weight reduction. This is a fundamental aspect for our customers of any type", confirms the Turin‐based manager. "Just thinking that the seat belts in Formula 1 are now under half a kilo, when 10 or 15 years ago we were still over 1 kg, is impressive. And at that time, although used in F1, the products were still less technologically advanced than what Tatuus adopts today in F4 and F3».
