36 British F4 The new frontier With the launch of the next‐generation cars in 2022, Tatuus will become the chassis manufacturer of the British F4 championship, consolidating its role as a world leader by Iacopo Rubino T atuus thus strengthened its global supremacy over the Formula 4 concept. From 2022, the Concorezzo‐based factory will become the chassis supplier for the British F4 championship, a series representing one of the most important countries on the global motorsports scene. Motorsport UK, the United Kingdom’s federation, picked‐up promotion duties, choosing an all‐Italian package including the Abarth engine and Pirelli tires. Tatuus is proud to add this important commitment to the already‐ consolidated ones in Italy (that kicked off the concept in 2014), Spain, and Germany, the nations currently hosting the most recognized F4 championships. British F4 will feature the brand‐new T‐421, which builds on the key features of the previous model and increased safety standards, especially the addition of the halo system to protect the cockpit. On the other hand, the lap times are set to fall thanks to upgraded aerodynamics and an increase in power, up to 180 horsepower with a 1.4‐liter turbo engine. "We are delighted to welcome Tatuus to the championship, a company that has grown into a world leader in the design and production of single‐seater racecars that were used by many professional drivers, including F1 ones, to start their careers. Tatuus has all the resources to supply a first‐class chassis, aligned with our vision for the series,” said Hugh Chambers, CEO of Motorsport UK. "The Tatuus‐Autotecnica package is the most widely‐used in F4 racing, and this potentially offers an opportunity to a large pool of drivers willing to take on their United Kingdom colleagues.” Argenti, Carlin, Fortec, and JHR confirmed that they will be at the start, and three more high‐profile squads will join. Hitech GP and Virtuosi Racing will come from F2, while Chris Dittmann Racing will add a new program to their GB3 one, featuring Tatuus chassis. The 2022 calendar features 20 rounds on the most renowned British racetracks. Donington Park will start the action on April 23rd to 24th, while Brands Hatch will host the finale on October 8th and 9th. Rounds will also be held at Thruxton, Oulton Park, Croft, Knockhill, Snetterton, and Silverstone.
