9 the much‐anticipated Formula 4 UAE season. The series is almost like a Formula 4 world championship, with the best teams of the Italian, German, Spanish and British championships set to line up in the Emirates for a first contact with the new car to be more prepared for the European season. Positive impressions The initial feedback proved particularly good according to teams and drivers. They had the chance to run a 30‐minute shakedown before running in two free practice sessions, also 30‐minute long. Qualifying was on Saturday, while the race was held on a 25‐minute distance on Sunday. Andrea Kimi Antonelli was the fastest driver in both practices and the Mercedes junior went on to take the pole for PREMA. After entering the final three events of the Italian championship, Antonelli emerged as the quickest driver in terms of gaining chemistry with the new car, opening up a 0.8s gap to the closest contender. On the other hand, it must be noted that Wurz had lost his fastest lap time on track limits ground, but still scored a front‐row position in front of the third PREMA man Conrad Laursen. Spanish Formula 4 Champion Dilano Van’t Hoff was fourth as he continues to run for MP Motorsport. Home hero Hamda Al Qubaisi rounded out the top‐10.
