After reaching the 20‐ mark, this year a record‐breaking 29 cars entered the last round at Yas Marina. The new race format was equally appreciated, with the top 10 finishers from Race 1 reversed on the grid for the second race. Leclerc in Super License form With the 18 super license points awarded to the winner, Arthur Leclerc secured the 40 points that would allow him to get a Formula 1 Super License. The Ferrari Driver Academy member was nearly flawless this season, showing great consistency throughout the five events. He also won four races, more than anyone else. Leclerc highlighted a positive progression in qualifying, which seemed to be his weak point early, and took pole in the final round at Yas Marina. Only rookie Pepe Martì seemed able to challenge him in the middle phase of the season, coming close to the overall victory on three occasions. Martin was definitely impressive, especially considering that the 16‐year‐old Spaniard was coming from only one season in Formula 4.
