16 Going for triple The third edition of the W Series, held with the Tatuus T‐318 machinery, has been so far dominated by two‐time champion Jamie Chadwick, who now aims for her third consecutive title in the all‐female championship T hird time’s a charm, they say, and Jamie Chadwick hopes to deliver a charming final part of the year. The two‐time W Series champion is the favorite for the 2022 title and enjoyed a dominant run with five wins in the first five races and one second place. The British female racer went into the summer break with 143 points, 75 more than Alice Powell and Beitske Visser, who trail her in a tie for second. Powell and Visser in the role of the chaser Powell and Visser were the 2021 and 2019 runners‐up respectively, and already tried to stop Chadwick in the past. But the Williams Formula 1 junior, starting this year under the Jenner Racing banner, constantly raised the bar, leaving her contenders with the remains. Powell broke the winning streak in Hungary after starting from pole position. While Chadwick has by Jacopo Rubino laid a solid foundation to remain the queen of the W Series, the fight for second overall is wide open. Supporting Formula 1 The 2022 W Series retained the Formula 1 support bill for eight Grand Prix. The journey started with the highly anticipated double‐race trip to Miami. It was the first time for the W Series on a street track. The series continued between Silverstone, Le Castellet, and Budapest. Action will resume on the 2nd and 3rd of October in the fascinating setting of Singapore. After that, the W Series will be back overseas for the final stint, with Austin on October 22 and Mexico City as the finale only seven days after. W Series
