38 The Interview/Marco Pierini Growing up together The next‐gen Formula 4 project provided a chance for a valuable collaboration between Tatuus and Andreani Group, which supplied its dampers. The Pesaro‐based company started a new technical challenge with results that went beyond expectations. But it’s only the start by Jacopo Rubino A ndreani Group is a leading manufacturer of damper and shocks for motorcycles, mountain bikes and cars. Now they are in Formula 4: the Pesaro‐based company was involved in the design of the T‐421, the Tatuus racecar that opened the new technical cycle of F4. Andreani Group has thus reached a milestone in its history of more than 30 years old. They can now supply shock absorbers designed and manufactured in its headquarters for a large‐scale older involving car racing. The goal was pursued for long, and eventually achieved with great success as Marco Pierini, head of Andreani Group's automotive business, recently told us. How far the relationship between Andreani Group and Tatuus dates back? "The relationship with Tatuus is a long‐standing one, it began in the mid‐2000s with a collaboration involving Öhlins, for which Andreani Group is an official distributor as well as a customer service and development center. At that time, we worked with Tatuus on special sports cars projects. We achieved great results working with their official team with the PY12 prototype. The dialogue with Tatuus always stayed alive throughout the years. There was a mutual interest in developing single‐seaters projects, but the Öhlins catalog lacked a specific product for this type of car."
