9 by Mattia Tremolada W ith one win and a third place at Spa‐Francorchamps, championship leader Dino Beganovic re‐extended to 41 points his margin atop the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine standings. Once back from the summer break, the drivers will be battling in a three‐round fight to the end. At the beginning of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, Dino Beganovic cruised to a solitary lead, but then Gabriele Minì started a steady recovery to close into the Swede. The Prema and Ferrari Driver Academy driver still has a considerable margin, but also has many competitors led by Minì. As mentioned, the first seven events can be divided into three stages. At Monza, Imola, and Monaco Beganovic was sensational, securing three wins and three second places. A lightning start that few insiders could have predicted. As a result, the Swedish driver opened up a big lead over his competitors. On the other hand, Minì made a mistake in the opening race at Monza, hitting the Prema car at the restart after a safety car. At Imola, his car jumped the start due to a clutch problem, causing him to lose a deserved victory. Among the other contenders, Paul Aron and Hadrien David had scored one win each but were not as consistent as Beganovic.
