TatuusMagazine 1 1 USF2000 As well as its upper sibling, USF Pro 2000, USF2000 made a key techni- cal step with the adoption of Tatuus machinery, which was welcomed by drivers and teams alike. The new USF-22 package introduced several safety upgrades including the Halo system. USF Juniors Starting from 2023, the same base chassis used for USF 2000 and USF Pro 2000 was developed into a new variant, called JR-23. Its destination is the USF Juniors series which was slotted at the base of the Road to Indy path. The championship wel- comes the youngest drivers as it’s open to 14-year-olds, provided that they will turn 15 before the final race. The goal is to enable young drivers coming from karting to gain mileage on a car that is good for training, and on tracks where they will race again as they progress in the Road To Indy programme. Formula Regional European by Alpine The Formula Regional concept, de- veloped by the FIA as a middle step between Formula 4 and Formula 3, was highly successful in Europe thanks to the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, which unified the Formula Regional European Championship, promot- ed by ACI Sport, and the Formula Renault Eurocup, which is today represented by Alpine. The championship had an out- standing car count since its outset and features 12 extremely high-lev- el teams that boosted the fields up to 36 cars.
