20 CHINA Huang Chu Han was crowned champion in TCR China’s finale that inaugurated the recently built Zhouzhou International Circuit. The NewFaster Racing driver only needed to cruise to the end of the races on a very wet track, finishing fifth and sixth to secure the title with a margin of four points over Daniel Lloyd. The Briton was not able to chase Luca Engstler in Race 1 and so the German youngster continued his clear round as a guest star, scoring his third consecutive victory. Lloyd then managed to win the second race, but this was not enough, because Huang recovered after a spin and scored the points he needed to retain the lead in the final standings. RACE 1 – ENGSTLER SCORES HIS THIRD CONSECUTIVE WIN On a damp track, Engstler took the lead from the start ahead of the MacPro Racing trio of Martin Xie, Lloyd, André Couto; Zhang Zhen Dong’s MG and Huang’s Audi followed in fifth and sixth positions. Lloyd overtook Xie on lap 3 and tried to close the gap to Engstler, but the Hyundai driver managed to keep a stable advantage of around three seconds. On lap 5, Couto passed Xie for P3 and Huang overtook Zheng for P5. For a few laps the MG driver kept on chasing Huang’s Audi, but in the second part of the race his pace faded and eventually he pitted on the penultimate lap. Engstler won from Lloyd, Couto, Xie, Huang and Kenneth Look. RACE 2 – LLOYD WINS, BUT HUANG SECURES THE TITLE At the start, Couto took the lead from Lloyd and Xie, but after a few turns he spun and dropped to fourth behind Engstler. During the first lap Couto tried to regain third position, but t-boned Engstler’s car that spun and rejoined in fifth position, while Couto’s Honda remained stranded in the middle of the track and the HuangChuHan cruisestothetitle ENGSTLER AND LLOYD SHARES VICTORIES AT ZHOUZHOU
