The first part of the Okayama race saw the Modulo Racing Dome Honda Civic of Shinji Nakano leading in the effort to retain the title for the third consecutive year. After the first pit stop, Tadao Uematsu replaced Nakano and was involved in a thrilling fight for the lead with Howson, Shinohara and Shogo Mitsuyama in the Adenau- Racingline Volkswagen Golf GTI that was leading the standings before the final round. The driver changes reshuffled the order, with Matsumoto now leading in Round 6 – Sunday 10 November, Okayama International Circuit 1. Y. Oota/T. Matsumoto/T. Shinohara (BRP, Audi RS 3 LMS); 2. M. Howson/P. Ip/J. Ka To (KCMG, Honda Civic FK8); 3. R. Hori/K. Chiyo/’Kizuna’/L. Jung Woo (Waimarama-Kizuna Racing, Audi RS 3 LMS) the BRP Audi one minute clear of Hiroki Ootsu in the Modulo Civic, Ip in the KCMG Civic and Philippe Devesa in the Golf. The leading Audi cars made only two pit stops compared to the three made by the Honda cars and this ultimately made the difference. In the final thirty minutes Mitsuyama further stretched his leading margin, Ka To and Lee moved into second and third positions while the Modulo Civic (Nakano-Ootsu-Uematsu-Endo) and the Adenau Golf (Parsons-Mitsuyama- Devesa) dropped to fifth and seventh respectively. In the final standings, the BRP Audi led the Modulo Racing Honda by 10.5 points, while the Audi Team DreamDrive (Takeda-Shirasaka- Tagahara) was classified third a further two points adrift and 1.5 ahead of the Adenau Golf.
