6 WTCR RACE 1 – GUERRIERI WINS BEHIND THE SAFETY CAR Guerrieri converted pole position into his third victory. At the start, he led the field into Turn 1, but Niels Langeveld was able to pass him during the first lap; Guerrieri kept Frédéric Vervisch at bay and at the beginning of lap 2 re-passed Langeveld at the end of the straight. Behind the leading trio, Tiago Monteiro defended fourth place from Björk and Kristoffersson. On lap 8, Vervisch stopped with a flat front tyre, prompting the safety car into action; when racing resumed, there were no further changes until lap 22, when Nicky Catsburg hit the back of Andy Priaulx’s car and sent it crashing into the tyre wall at T1. The safety car was deployed again and circulated until the chequered flag, with Guerrieri the winner from Langeveld (who took his first WTCR podium) and Monteiro. RACE 2 – FOURTH WIN OF THE SEASON FOR MICHELISZ Michelisz claimed a lights-to-flag victory, his fourth of the season. At the start, he made a controversial manoeuvre, zigzagging to keep Rob Huff behind, but this only resulted in a warning flag, while Gabriele Tarquini kept third position ahead of Kevin Ceccon. For the whole race, Huff tried to get close enough to attempt an overtaking move, but to no avail because Michelisz didn’t make even the slightest mistake.
