TCR World and life
10 WTCR The race was suspended and a new start was given behind the safety car with Girolami and Guerrieri sharing the front row, while Muller was 5th and Michelisz 13th. Guerrieri passed Girolami and pulled away; behind him there was a tough battle for the positions and eventually Azcona claimed second ahead of Johan Kristoffersson, Girolami, Ceccon and Muller, while Michelisz recovered to seventh. This meant that only Michelisz and Guerrieri were still in contention before the final race, split by ten points. A light rain was falling when Race 3 got underway, Guerrieri led from Azcona, Michelisz, Ceccon and Frédéric Vervisch. Kristoffersson sprinted from 22nd on the grid up into third by the end of the first lap, ahead of Michelisz. Following a safety car intervention, Azcona pushed Guerrieri onto the grass, the Argentine rejoined in third place behind Azcona and Kristoffersson, but then dropped further down as his car began overheating, the radiator clogged by grass and mud. He finally had to pit during a second safety car period. Michelisz had the title in the pocket and so didn’t mind to let Ceccon and Vervisch pass by for P3 and P4. Racing resumed for the last four laps, Kristoffersson stole the lead from Azcona and pulled away, while the Spaniard kept Ceccon at bay to finish second. However, the Spaniard was given a 30-second penalty for the incident with Guerrieri and was demoted to 14th; Vervisch and Michelisz were promoted to third and fourth, a result that was enough for the Hungarian to secure the title.
