20 UAE PROCAR The United Arab Emirates Procar Championship resumed at Dubai Autodrome for rounds 7 and 8 after a break of six weeks and Costas Papantonis began the New Year in the same way he had finished 2019, by claiming a double victory in the TCR class. Papantonis set the class's fastest lap in Qualifying and then won both races ahead of his Mouhritsa Racing teammate Alexandros Annivas; they were both at the wheel of CUPRA cars run by Dragon Racing. Father and son Papantonis and Annivas had a close fight in Race 1, with Annivas taking the lead for the first time since the championship kicked off last October; however, some electrical issues deprived his car of turbocharger boost and so he was forced to stop to reset the system. As a consequence, he finished one lap behind his father. In the second race, Annivas was again chasing Papantonis and this time he finished a close second. The series will return to Dubai on February 22, for Rounds 9 and 10. CostasPapantonisresumes hiswinningstreak
