TCR World and life

13 The 2021 TCR Europe championship is closer than ever. The first six races of the season have produced six different winners at the wheel of cars from five different brands. No wonder, then, that the classification is really tight, with the first nine drivers covered by 49 points. Scoring his maiden win in the second race at Zandvoort, PSS Racing Team’s Franco Girolami (left) has taken the lead in the standings, 11 points ahead of Mikel Azcona who missed the Dutch event due to a clashing commitment in PURE ETCR at Vallelunga. A further 11 points behind lie Jimmy Clairet and Tom Coronel. The latter claimed an authoritative first victory in the European series when he beat Jack Young in Zandvoort’s Race 1 (above). Young had led the field from the start but couldn’t resist the assaults from Coronel who was inspired by racing on his home circuit (below).
