19 GERMANY THE ITALIAN DRIVER CLAIMS TWO POLES AND TWO RACEWINS FORWIMMERWERK MOTORSPORT IN THEIR HOME EVENT Eric Scalvini left only crumbs for his ADAC TCR Germany rivals over the Red Bull Ring weekend. The Italian and his Wimmer Werk Motorsport CUPRA Leon Competición made a clean sweep on the Austrian racetrack – two pole positions and two race wins – pocketing the maximum 70 points on offer. This helped him move up into second place in the standings, 19 points behind Luca Engstler and five ahead of Dominik Fugel. In both races, Scalvini made good use of the pole to take the lead at the start. In the first race, he was followed by Engstler and Dominik and Marcel Fugel. Behind them Martin Andersen and Sandro Soubek made contact while fighting for fifth. Soubek pitted with a puncture and Robin Jahr benefited from the battle to move up into P5. However, Andersen was able to retake the position soon afterwards and positions froze for the rest of the race. The second race was disrupted by two safety car interventions, when Andreas Höfler collided with Jahr and crashed his Lubner Motorsport Opel Astra on lap 5 and then when the second Lubner Opel of Philipp Regensperger stopped on the track on lap 8. This did not affect Scalvini’s pace, as the Italian kept on leading, while Fugel and Engstler were fighting behind him and finished the race in second and third respectively after some skirmishes that earned Fugel a warning.
