30 ENDURANCE AtlantaSpeedwerksclaim back-to-backwins inIMSA The IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge raced at Watkins Glen twice in six days, and the Atlanta Speedwerks team claimed back-to-back wins in the TCR class. Ryan Eversley and Todd Lamb won the 4-hour race in the #94 Honda Civic Type R. Eversley (above) took the chequered flag with a 6.4-second margin over the Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai Elantra N of Ryan Norman who shared driving duties with Parker Chase. Michael Lewis and Taylor Hagler completed the podium in their BHA Hyundai Veloster N. Six days later it was the pairing of Robert Noaker and Brian Henderson (right) who emerged victorious in the 2-hour race in the #84 Civic at the end of a four-way battle. Noaker retook the lead from Jonathan Morley’s Road Shagger Racing Audi RS 3 LMS on the final lap and it looked like a 1-2 finish for Atlanta Speedwerks until the #94 Honda that Eversley shared with Scott Smithson was dropped to the rear of the finishing order when it didn’t meet the minimum weight in post-race scrutineering. That elevated Morley and co-driver Gavin Ernstone to second, while third place went to Hagler and Lewis after the Copeland Motorsports Hyundai Veloster N of Tyler Maxson-Tyler Gonzalez that would have moved up to third was found to be underweight as well. Everlsey’s penalty meant that he lost the lead in the standings, slipping 130 points behind Hagler and Lewis.
