7 Competition in PURE ETCR is really close, as the performance of the three models is perfectly balanced. This resulted in eleven of the twelve drivers already able to claim victories, either in battles or finals. Mikel Azcona emerged as the first leader after the season opener, but after winning all the battles he took part in and the Vallelunga Super Final (left), he lost his invincibility when he was involved in an incident with Augusto Farfus during the Aragón final. The latter made up for a disappointing event in Italy when he was crowned ‘king’ of the Spanish event. Touring Car rookie Rodrigo Baptista was especially impressive at the wheel of a Romeo Ferraris-built Giulia (above) and climbed to fourth in the standings behind Ekström, Vernay and Jordi Gené.
