Vila Real’s street circuit – where
overtaking is quite impossible – hosted
the second event of TCR Portugal.
Rafael Lobato (SEAT León) took
advantage of his pole position and beat
Francisco Mora (Veloso Motorsport SEAT
León) by only six hundredths of a
second in the first race.
Race 2 was disrupted by the red flag
following an incident between Veloso
Motorsport teammates Mora and
Francisco Carvalho who were fighting
for second. José Rodrigues (Gen
Motorsport Honda Civic) led for the
whole distance and claimed his first
win from Francisco Abreu (Team
Novadriver Volkswagen Golf Gti).
The pairing of Francisco Carvalho-Nuno
Batista – who dominated the season
opener at Braga – retained the
championship lead, but with a reduced
gap of only five points.
