TCR Thailand’s field is steadily growing
with the addition of some strong
newcomers. The second race meeting
of the new series saw Narasak
Ittiritpong and Alexander Mies shine
on their maiden appearance.
Ittiritpong – who had been forced to
miss the season opener due to a delay
in the delivery of his Honda to Vattana
Motorsport – took pole position and
won the first race after resisting strong
pressure from Krating Daeng Racing’s
Mies. The young German eventually
finished third, close behind Carlo Van
Dam (Singha Motorsport Team
Thailand)
As Ittiritpong was stopped by a
technical failure and Mies pitted
because of a puncture, Van Dam – the
winner of the series’ first two rounds
in May – managed to overcome Jack
Lemvard’s resistance to claim his third
victory of the season.
