A week later, the TCR circus had
moved to ‘The Cathedral of Speed’
at Monza in Italy. So far, the
season had seen six different
winners from the six races, but
when Roberto Colciago took victory
in Race 1, he became the first two-
time winner of the year. His young
colleague Attila Tassi made another
stunning start and ran for much of
the race in second place, giving the
Honda Civic cars of M1RA Racing a
1-2 finish, while a relieved Pepe
Oriola finished third and so claimed
some vital points after the
frustrations of Spa.
Frédéric Vervisch started from pole
position, but the Comtoyou Audi
driver slipped to sixth by the
chequered flag. In Race 2, however,
Vervisch went the other way
through the field and, despite
starting from tenth thanks to the
reversed top-ten, he finished third
