from Ekblom’s poor start and took
the lead from the Kristoffersson
Motorsport duo of Fredrik Blomstedt
and Ekblom; the latter managed to
overtake his teammate and closed
the gap, but could not find a way
to pass the leader.
Dahlgren sprinted from pole
position in Race 2; just like in the
first race, Ekblom was chasing
Dahlgren, but his hopes were
frustrated by the Safety Car that
was deployed after an incident and
circulated until the end of the race.
In Race 3 Ekblom made up for the
disappointment and led for the
whole distance, followed by
Dahlgren, while Brink, Haglöf and
Blomstedt delivered a good fight for
third place.
The next event at Alastaro
welcomed back Kristoffersson to the
championship and the World
Rallycross star proved to be in a
league of his own. After setting
pole position for all three races, the
Swede made a clean sweep, claiming
three lights-to-flag victories and
inflicting big gaps to the rest of the
field.
The Volkswagen Golf GTI cars run by
Johan’s father’s Kristoffersson
Motorsport conquered five podium
positions out of six, with Blomstedt
finishing second in Races 1 and 3,
while Ekblom was classified second
in Race 2 and third in the other two
races. Only the PWR Racing SEAT of
Dahlgren disrupted their monopoly
with a third in Race 2.
Ekblom took the lead in the
standings with 111 points, five more
than Dahlgren; Kristoffersson
squeezed into third position with
78, while Blomstedt moved up to
fourth (69).
