The car has already hit the track. Did
you see it in action?
“Yes, we followed the shakedown at
Franciacorta and we realized that it's born
healthy. Obviously, Renault relied on
Dallara, which I reckon is the best carbon
fibre chassis manufacturer in the world, so
we're starting from a very high level. The
Nissan engine doesn't have too
complicated electronics and that will help
in not getting crazy. I saw a complex car
management, but definitely it's possible,
like should be in any single-make series.
The driver goes in pushes the throttle and
go. The clutch pedal or leverage won't be
used. The gearbox also seemed pretty
quick and enough performing to make
everything work together. It's good from
every standpoint".
What is Oregon expecting from this new
series? An higher level of competition?
"I'm not expecting anything. I hope, and I
want to underline it, that the paddock will
be populated with teams and drivers who'll
increase the level of competition. So it will
surely become more difficult, but losing will
have another kind of meaning eventually.
Clearly, we will try to continue in the same
winning streak as in the last few years".
