McLaren joined the party with a
tweet in order to compliment
their young champion which is
expected for a meeting in the
near future. "It's very very soon
to talk about the future now -
continued the champ - because
there is still the Eurocup to win".
So to be sure to complete an
year that will be remembered
forever.
A record
eight wins
The success of Nyck de Vries at
Mugello went beyond the title
though. He decided to put an
additional mark on the Fast Lane
Promotion series by scoring his
eighth win of the season.
Something never accomplished
before as Antonio Fuoco got six
wins and Daniil Kvyat seven.
Following his usual storyboard,
being a leader from start to
finish, Nyck kept his promises
and brought his toll to eight.
On the podium, he didn't
over-celebrate because his mind
was already in the future.
Saturday afternoon, after
cruising to title, the team opened
a good vodka bottle but he only
tasted it on his lips. It's been his
only vice. Who follows him
closely knows he doesn't do it
on purpose. This is the real
Nyck. He is always tough on
himself and wants to improve
each time. A tract that leads to
his serious appearance which
might seem - to who talks to him
- quite cold. He talks and
reasons as a professional. But
that's just a superficial feeling.
For now, distractions on-track
are not allowed. Nyck de Vries
has a clear idea of what he
needs to do. Get at the top of
this sport. And the first step is
now complete.
