Faust Salom & Jaume Font

The first season of TCR in Spain took
the form of a class within the CER
(Campeonato de España Resistencia)
in which Touring and GT cars ran
together in races between 50 minutes
and three hours in duration.
Eventually the pairing of Faust Salom
and Jaume Font emerged as the
winners of both the TCR Spain and
CER titles at the wheel of a SEAT León
entered by Baporo Motorsport.
“It has been an exciting and amazing
season, with some great fights that
helped me to learn a lot. Winning both
titles was a very good result for my
first season in professional
motorsport,
” said 19-year-old Salom
who shared the car with the more
experienced Font, who echoed: “
I was
a bit worried before the beginning of
the season, as I had a new team and
a new teammate. But everything went
perfectly well and I wish all seasons
would be as successful as this one.”
Both drivers were enthusiastic about the
TCR concept and the SEAT León TCR.

“I like TCR very much,
because it is open to many different
cars and the level is very high, with
closely-fought and exciting races.
As for the León TCR, is a very
well-designed and developed
car that can be competitive on all
types of tracks and is relatively
easy to drive.
”
