IMSA CHALLENGE

The seventh and eighth rounds of the

IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge were

both affected by changeable weather

and made the fight for the TCR title

even tighter. At Road America, Harry

Gottsacker and Mason Filippi took

their maiden win in the Bryan Herta

Autosport Hyundai Veloster N; three

weeks later at the Virginia

International Raceway, Nick Galante

and James Vance accomplished the

same feat in the Fast MD Racing Audi

RS 3 LMS. With two rounds left, Marc

Wilkins and Michael Lewis have

retained the lead in the standings,

but their teammates Filippi-

Gottsacker have closed the gap to five

points. Tom O’Gorman and Shelby

Blackstock have dropped from second

to third, but just a further four

points adrift, while only 28 points

cover the first seven teams.

The penultimate round of the series

will be at Laguna Seca on September

13th/14th.
