For its second season, the ADAC TCR
Germany moves the crossbar higher
for everyone, asserting itself as the
most successful TCR series around
with an outstanding 44 entries.
Josh Files returns to defend his
2016 title with the same
combination of team (Target
Competition) and car (Honda Civic
Type-R). However, he will face a
cosmopolitan bunch of top-level
competitors that include
experienced Touring Car drivers such
as Kristian Poulsen (Liqui Moly Team
Engstler Volkswagen Golf), Antti
Buri (LMS Racing Audi RS3 LMS),
Harald Proczyk (HP Racing SEAT
León) and Steve Kirsch (Team ADAC
Sachsen Honda).
The new generation is also well
represented by the likes of Luca
Engstler (Liqui Moly Team Engstler
VW), Sheldon van der Linde and Max
Hofer (Prosport Performance Audi),
Robin Brezina (Aust Motorsport
Audi), Niko Kankkunen (LMS Racing
Audi) and Tom Lautenschlager
(Target Competition Audi) who are
all in their teens. Lady drivers are
also well represented, by Poland’s
Gosia Rdest (Target Competition
Audi) and Switzerland’s Jasmin
Preisig (Lubner Motorsport Opel
Astra).
The series will be run over seven
events (starting with Oschersleben
next week) with a couple of trips
abroad: to the Red Bull Ring in
Austria and to Zandvoort in the
Netherlands.
