from Hesse and Fugel. On lap 12,
Hesse passed Halder who pushed the
rival’s car wide and retook the lead;
but he realized that this might result
in a penalty and so handed first place
back to Hesse; Proczyk benefitted
from the commotion and passed Fugel
to finish third.
In Race 2, Michelle Halder, starting
from pole, beat Arnold into T1. As she
pulled away, Buri passed René Kircher
and Arnold to move into second.
Proczyk, Mike Halder, Fugel and Hesse
made contact; Proczyk got the worst
of it and dropped from fourth to
seventh. Mike Halder passed Arnold
for third and began chasing Buri;
behind them the fight for fifth
between Hesse and Proczyk
culminated with their cars coming
together. Something broke in Hesse’s
car and, despite the fact that it was
crabbing sideways, Hesse didn’t give
up and salvaged a valuable ninth
place. Michelle Halder claimed her
maiden victory from Buri, her brother
Mike, Arnold and Proczyk.
