them, and finished in that order, while
Pavel Kalmanovich had to fight harder
to defend fifth place from the LADA
cars of Mikhail Grachev and Ladygin.
The latter took his third victory of the
season in Race 2, when he finished just
over 2.2 seconds ahead of his
teammate Grachev. Both Grachev and
Ladygin, who started from P2 and P3,
beat pole sitter Grigoriy Burlutskiy to
Turn 1, but an incident involving
Kalmanovich and Lukashevich forced a
number of drivers to take to the escape
road in avoidance. Among them was
Bragin, who dropped to 13th place as a
result and then steadily began to work
his way through the pack to eventually
finish in sixth position.
Grachev and Ladygin controlled the
race from the front, opening up a gap
from Burlutskiy who successfully
defended third place from Gavrilov. At
the final corner of the last lap, Grachev
played the dutiful teammate and
allowed Ladygin to take the lead and
so claim maximum championship
points.
