went to Hans Villemi, the Estonian
driver who, after competing in the
Koiranen GP for the majority of the
season, switched to Powerteam for the
last race. Villemi achieved a series of
top-ten finishes and ended the season
on 69 points. In eighth place we find
Nyck De Vries, a young product of the
Junior McLaren program in the
Koiranen GP, De Vries also enjoyed
considerable success in the Eurocup
Renault , accumulating a number of
wins and pole positions. Like Gasly, the
young Dutchman took part in three
ALPS events, attaining consistently
excellent results, including a second
place at Mugello. There were also three
appearances for William Vermont,
another top driver from the European
competition, who competed on behalf
of ARTA. The Frenchman’s best
weekend came at Imola where he
finished third and second respectively
in the two races. The championship
top-ten was completed by the Polish
JD Motorsport driver, Jakub Dalewski,
who divided his time between ALPS
and the Renault NEC championship.
His best result came at Spa where he
finished race 1 in second position.
Racing for SMP by Koiranen GP,
Orudzhev collected 75 points thanks
to a significant improvement in his
results. In fact, during the second half
of the season he finished on the
podium twice, thanks
to a second and third
place, and had several
other points finishes,
making him the
second most
successful rookie, after
Fuoco. It is important
to bear in mind that
Ghiotto, Bonifacio,
Joerg and Orudzhev
also took part in the
Eurocup Renault
championship. Special
mention must also got
to the sixth place
achieved by Pierre Gasly, the 2013
European champion who, despite only
participating in three races, racked up
an impressive 72 points,
demonstrating the quality of the Tech 1
Racing drivers with a second place,
two third places and a fourth in just six
races, and finishing outside the points
only once. A creditable seventh place
