“I live three and a half hours away from Sp so it’s like an home racetrack for me.
When I was younger I went driving go-karts on the track close to Stavelot and then I
came back on the real track with real race cars. Spa is thought to be a special circuit
and it definitely is. I think it’s great but honestly I never thought that it was so
extraordinary compared to the other circuits. Of course, the Eau Rouge is fantastic, as
well as the demanding sequence of corners. It’s also a technical track especially in
the sectors with the fastest corners. Puhon is the perfect example. It’s a double left
corner that I really love. The first time you find it really difficult, because it’s long and
you have to memorize it well in order to find a good rhythm and understand its
secrets. That’s, of course, a major part of its charm”.
