Impossibile fermare Hulkenberg

Ormai ha un ritmo che nessuno, nella A1 Grand Prix, riesce a contenere. Nico Hulkenberg ha conquistato ls seconda pole consecutiva realizzando un tempo totale di 2'36"225 e sbalordendo per essere stato l'unico a scendere sotto l'1'18" con 1'17"962, crono conquistato nel quarto segmento. Jonny Reid, secondo con la nera Lola della Nuova Zelanda, ha rimediato un distacco di 0"216 (2'36"441: 1'18"261 e 1'18"180), ma non ha fatto che confermare che la Super Nova è la squadra da battere. E' infatti il team di David Sears ad occuparsi della gestione tecnica delle Lola di Hulkenberg e Reid. Un dominio che ricalca quello Dams dello scorso campionato.

La Francia è quarta con Loic Duval (2'36"711: 1'18"511 e 1'18"200), preceduta dalla Gran Bretagna di Robbie Kerr (2'36"596: 1'18"480 e 1'18"116). Bravo Sebastien Buemi, quinto con la Lola rossocrociata mentre a sorprendere è stata la Cina, sesta grazie a Ho Pin Tung. Continua a non crescere il team Italia; gomme o non gomme (ricordate la polemica innescata dagli azzurri dopo Taupo), anche a Eastern Creek Enrico Toccacelo è fuori dai primi dieci. Il romano partirà dalla settima fila col 13° tempo (2'37"964: 1'19"292 e 1'18"672). Crisi profonda nel team Brasile, addirittura dietro al Libano, e per la squadra di casa, 18° con Karl Reindler.

A1 Team Germany has taken pole position for tomorrow's A1GP Sydney, Australia Sprint race, putting in the fastest lap time ever round the track during the last of the four qualifying segments. Setting an aggregate time of 2:36.225, A1 Team Germany was just two tenths of a second faster than second placed New Zealand, setting the scene for a closely fought race tomorrow. New Zealand's Jonny Reid was disappointed not to be on pole but is confident of a good result for the team tomorrow. A1 Team Great Britain maintained its strong performance from morning practice, delivering the second fastest lap time of the weekend but could not match this a second time, putting the car third on the grid. A1 Team China saw the biggest improvement from practice by qualifying sixth, with driver Ho-Pin Tung giving the team its best ever qualifying result. A1 Team USA recovered well after spinning off in the first segment, taking seventh place on the grid while good laps in earlier sessions allowed Italy to qualify 13th, despite a spin in the fourth segment. This morning's strong practice performance could not be repeated for home team Australia who qualified 18th. Mexico, Singapore and South Africa also failed to deliver on this morning's early promise, qualifying towards the back of the grid. However, fortunes changed for Ireland and Malaysia who both improved on their earlier practice performances, qualifying ninth and 10th respectively.
